Social Sharing in Sentori

Today we are announcing the release of the first phase of Sentori’s social media integration. This release is particularly focused on Twitter, but we will be introducing Facebook, Google+, and other channels soon.

Sentori's social sharing features allow you to share your email with members of your social networks. Even better than that, you can extend the reach of your email by allowing your recipients to share it with their networks too. We wrap all of this up with a detailed report, showing the social influence of your email.

Share with your followers

The first social share option is to Tweet a link of the online version of your email to your own Twitter followers. This option now appears as a Tweet button once you have queued up an email. For existing emails, you can visit the new Email Sharing screen.

Let your recipients share with their followers

The second option is to place a share button (or link) in your email, allowing recipients to share your email with their Twitter followers. If you want to create your own links, just use the TweetEmail merge code (surrounded by double curly brackets).

Measuring the social impact of your email

You will notice a new Social Report tab when viewing your email's reports. Here we provide a timeline of Tweets and Retweets of your email.

Twitter Timeline

Below the timeline, we report on the the following key performance indicators:

  • Tweets
  • Retweets
  • Users
  • Potential Reach

Twitter KPI

We calculate the Potential Reach of your email as the sum of the followers that people who Tweet or Retweet your email have. So if @stephenfry Tweets your email, your Potential Reach is massive! We think this is a really exciting way to increase the exposure of your email marketing campaigns and we hope that you find the statistical data useful.

In addition to the charts and numbers, Sentori also sucks in the conversations about your email that it overhears on Twitter -- we call this "buzz". We show you the people who are talking about you and what they are saying.

Share emails on your website

As part of this update it was a natural extension to include a way to share your emails on your website; in essence a “web archive”. On the Email Sharing screen you will find the publishing options for your newsletters.

Next steps

We really hope that you’re as excited as we are about integrating social channels into your email campaigns. If you’d like some help getting adding a Tweet button to your template please contact the Helpdesk via the link inside the software.

If you have any comments we’d love to hear them. Please drop me an email.
