Signup Form Enhancements Released

We love getting feedback and suggestions from our users. This latest release of Sentori is a great example of collaborating with our users and shaping their ideas to fit the Sentori philosophy. Being able to do more at the point someone subscribes has come up often with customers, so this is for you!

If you go to the Contacts tab and then click the Signup Forms button, you’ll see there’s a new workflow available to take you through creating your own forms. Here's some of the stuff you can play with...

Fields and layout

Contact Fields

Step 2 of the new workflow allows you to specify what fields a subscriber needs to fill out in order to subscribe to your newsletter. You can add, re-order, delete, and make fields required. Clicking on the name of the field allows you to edit the text display on the form.

Signup Form Fields

Mailing List Preferences

As well as contact fields, you can also drop in Mailing Lists that subscribers can choose to join.

Layout Elements

In order to help you layout your form, you can drop in headings, text blocks, and dividers.

Do stuff when the form is submitted

When a subscriber successfully completes your Signup Form there are a number of actions that can be fired.

Send a Confirmation Email

This is the email that asks the subscribers to click a link to confirm that they wish to sign up. This is the only bit that is required; it keeps your lists nice and clean.

Automatically subscribe them to a Mailing List

As well as allowing contacts to specify which Mailing Lists they join, they can also be added to them automatically.

Re-direct them to a “thank you” page

If you wish, you could bounce them on to a special page on your website when they have submitted the Signup Form. This is a very nice way to craft a seamless user-experience within your website.

When they confirm their sign up, redirect them to a confirmation page

As well as thanking them for signing up with a special page on your website, you can also do the same for when they click the confirm link in their Confirmation Email.

Get an alert email when someone signs up

Be really nosey and find out as soon as someone joins your list. Sentori will send you an alert email telling you who is signing up.

Hosting your form

The final step of the workflow gives you the option to have us host the form for you (in which case we’ll give you a link) or grab the HTML code to embed it directly on your website.

We hope that you find the new features really useful. Please get in touch if you have any suggestions or comments.
